Blue / Orange Badge Holder

As a blue/orange badge holder I am sure you are frustrated when you find non-badge holders using disabled parking bays or when thoughtlessly or illegally parked vehicles cause an obstruction or a safety hazard. I am writing to let you know some good news about changes that are being made to the way parking is managed in Nottingham.

From October 1st Nottingham City Council will be taking over the enforcement of a range of parking rules. We are doubling the size of our team of Parking Attendants who will now be able to issue tickets (£60 Penalty Charge Notices) to illegally parked vehicles, including any parked in disabled parking bays.

Nottingham City Council is confident that this change will mean you find it easier to find parking space in disabled bays. You can also use on-street pay and display bays free of charge and without a time limit so long as you display your badge.

We all want a well managed city where traffic flows freely, buses run to time and pedestrians are safe. Tackling illegal parking, along with all the other transport improvements we are making, will help to bring this about.

We do hope that you see the benefits of these changes from October 1st. If you would like any more information please email get street wise or call: (0115) 915 6592.

Please note that there are certain pedestrianised areas where your blue badge allows you to park only before 10 a.m. and after 4.30 p.m. These are signposted as you enter the area. Please ensure that you comply with these regulations. Otherwise you may incur a Penalty Charge of £60.
