Information for Business in Nottingham

As someone running a business in Nottingham I am sure you are frustrated when you find thoughtlessly or illegally parked vehicles causing an obstruction to your loading access or a safety hazard to your staff or customers.

Nottingham City Council has some good news about changes that are being made to the way parking is managed in the city.

From October 1st Nottingham City Council will be taking over the enforcement of a range of parking regulations. We are doubling the size of our team of Parking Attendants who will now be able to issue tickets (£60 Penalty Charge Notices) to illegally parked vehicles, as well as continuing to manage the pay and display bays that have proved so popular with shoppers.

We are confident that this change will mean your customers and delivery drivers find the city easier to get around which will save them time and frustration. Of course the changes do mean that you and your staff will also need to park legally if you want to be sure to avoid a fine. Vehicles parked in bus lanes, on urban clearways and those belonging to repeat offenders may be towed away. The release fee is £105 in addition to the fine.

We all want a well managed and prosperous city where traffic flows freely, buses run to time, pedestrians are safe and where people are keen to work and to come to shop. Tackling illegal parking, along with all the other transport improvements the City Council is making, will help to bring this about.

We do hope that you see the benefits of these changes from October 1st. If you would like any more information about Get Street Wise please don’t hesitate email us at get street wise or call us on: (0115) 915 6592.
