As someone running a business in Nottingham it must be frustrating to find thoughtlessly or illegally parked vehicles causing an obstruction to your loading access or a safety hazard to your staff or customers.
Nottingham City Council has some good news about changes that are being made to the way parking is managed in the city.
From October 1st Nottingham City Council will be taking over the enforcement of a range of parking rules. We are doubling the size of our team of Parking Attendants who will now be able to issue tickets (£60 Penalty Charge Notices) to illegally parked vehicles, including the many that are parked illegally in the city centre every night and especially at the weekend.
We realise that many of these vehicles may be driven and parked by your customers and we hope that you will help us in getting our message across to them so that the changes (and the tickets) don’t come as a surprise in October. We can send you posters that we hope you will be able to put up where your customers will see them.
Vehicles parked in bus lanes, on urban clearways and those belonging to repeat offenders may be towed away. The release fee is £105 in addition to the fine. Of course the changes do mean that you and your staff will also need to park legally if you want to be sure to avoid a fine.
