From October 1st Nottingham City Council will be taking over the enforcement of a range of parking rules. This includes parking in pedestrianised areas and on yellow lines. We are doubling the size of our team of Parking Attendants who will now be able to issue tickets (£60 Penalty Charge Notices) to illegally parked vehicles. Vehicles parked in bus lanes, on urban clearways and those belonging to repeat offenders may be towed away. The release fee is £105 in addition to the fine.

As a tradesman you are entitled to unload your vehicle at the start of the day and load it at the end of the day. In pedestrianised areas you must unload before 10:00 and load after 16:30. Once you have completed unloading your vehicle, it must be removed to an area where parking is permitted.

Parking on yellow lines, in bus lanes, pedestrian areas, disabled bays or residents’ parking zones without a valid permit or in the city centre Clear Zone in the middle of the day is inconsiderate towards other road users and can be very dangerous. We all want a well managed city where traffic flows freely, buses run to time and pedestrians are safe. Tackling illegal parking, along with all the other transport improvements we are making, will help to bring this about.

We do hope that you see the benefits of these changes from October 1st. The leaflet enclosed tells you more about the changes. If you would like any more information please don’t hesitate to email us at get street wise or call us on: (0115) 915 6592.
